REPORT ON THE ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR MEGHALAYA POLICE RECRUITMENT 2016 UNDER CHIEF MINISTER’S CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING PROGRAMME

An Orientation Programme on Meghalaya Police Recruitment was conducted in 5 (Five) places in West Jaintia Hills District. Firstly it was held in Amlarem on 27.08.2016 where it was attended by less than 30 (Thirty) participants and resource person were SI S. Pariat and SI I. Kharpran. Secondly the program was held in Nartiang on 21.09.2016 where it was attended by less than 90 (Ninety) participants and resource person were Shri R. Muthu, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Shri C. Syrti, MPS Additional Superintendent of Police, Shri R. K Sangma, MPS DySP (P), SI I. Kharpran and SI S. Pakyntein. Thirdly the program was held in Amlarem where it was attended by less than 50 (Fifty) participants and resource person were Shri P. Syiem, MPS DySP (HQ), Shri D. Khyriem, MPS DySP (P), SI I. Kharpran and SI S. Pariat. Fourthly it was held in Raliang on 24.9.2016 where it was attended by less than 300 (Three Hundred) participants and resource person were Shri P. Syiem, MPS DySP (HQ), Shri I. Diengdoh, MPS DySP (P), SI I. Kharpran and SI D. Challam. Fifthly it was held in Dawki on 27.9.2016 where it was attended by 90 (Ninety) participants and resource person were Shri P. Syiem, MPS DySP (HQ), SI I. Kharpran and SI A. Laloo. Lastly the Orientation Program was held in Jowai on 30.9.2016 where it was attended by less than 500 (Five Hundred) participants and resource person were Shri R. Muthu, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Shri C. Syrti, MPS Additional Superintendent of Police, Shri P. Syiem, MPS DySP (HQ), Smti C. W Lyngdoh, MPS DySP (P), Shri I. B Diengdoh MPS DySP (P) and SI I. Kharpran.

All the participants benefitted from the Programme and inputs on Educational Qualification, Physical Requirement, Physical Efficiency test, Written Examination and Personal Interview. A presentation was given regarding the Transparent Recruitment Process – use of Radio Frequency Identification and use of OMR Sheets. Further a mock interview was also conducted during the Programme and many youths participated. The main aim of the programme is to encourage and guide the candidates to be physically and mentally prepared for the Recruitment.
