Road Safety Week, 2021
In view of the National Road Safety Awareness Program 2021, the Jowai Traffic Branch working under the aegis of the Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills DEF are observing a week long campaign to create awareness among the public regarding traffic rules and to reduce casualties of road accidents, under the theme, "Safe yourself to save your family."
In continuation to the National Road safety week, Jowai Traffic Police conducted an awareness programme today the 24th Feb, 2021 at North Liberty, St. Mary Mazzarello Girls Higher Secondary School and H.K Singh Memorial Secondary School, Jowai on the theme “Safe yourself to save your family”. Inspr. D. Khatri, SI John K. Majaw along with their team explained the basic traffic rules, measures and means to be observed while driving, riding or walking on road/street.
As part of Road Safety Week 2021, a Cycling Rally on the theme “Safe Yourself to Save Your Family” was conducted today the 25th February, 2021 by Jowai Traffic Branch. The rally was flagged-off at 7:00 Am by Dy. Superintendent of Police (Hq/Tr) where more than 36 bicycle riders participated. Participation Certificates were also given to the riders by the Dy. Superintendent of Police during which he appealed to the public that they should respect and follow the road safety rules and strictly to avoid rash driving and over-speeding.
In continuation to the Road Safety Week 2021, today the 25th February, 2021 an awareness programme on the theme “Safe yourself to save your family” was conducted by the Jowai Traffic Police for the Jaintia Tourist Taxi Association and the Local Taxi Association.
In continuation to the Road Safety Week 2021, Jowai Traffic Police conducted an awareness programme on the theme “Safe Yourself to Save Your Family” today the 26.02.2021 at Government Boys’ School, Jowai.
10 kms Marathon was organised today morning as a concluding part of week long observance of "Road Safety Week 2021" *Safe yourself to save your family* Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills flagged off the Marathon and distributed certificates, trophies and a cash prize to the winners. Awareness on Road safety Rules was also deliberated by Officers of Jowai Traffic Branch.
