FOLLOW TRAFFIC RULES & MAKE ACCIDENTS RARE

SAFETY RULES FOR DRIVERS

  1. ALWAYS WEAR SEAT BELT. IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE AT THE TIME OF ACCIDENTS.

  2. NEVER OVERTAKE VEHICLES AT NARROW BRIDGES, TURNINGS & BLIND CURVES.

  3. A DISTRACTED DRIVER IS ONE OF THE MAIN CAUSES OF ACCIDENTS. AVOID MULTI TASKING i.e. MAKING CALLS, TEXTING, EATING, ADJUSTING THE RADIO ETC WHILE DRIVING.

  4. DRINKING WHILE DRIVING IS A CRIME.

  5. USE LOW BEAM AT NIGHT

  6. INDICATE THE CORRECT SIGNAL i.e. INDICATE RIGHT TO GO RIGHT AND LEFT TO GO LEFT. SIMILARLY WHILE ALLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND PASS YOU INDICATE THE LEFT HAND SIDE SIGNAL.

  7. USE YOUR HORN SPARINGLY. DO NOT HORNS NEAR HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, COURTS ETC.

  8. KEEP ENOUGH DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU.

  9. AVOID OVERSPEEDING. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE LATE THAN NEVER.

  10. A TIRED/DROWSY DRIVER IS CONSIDERED A DANGEROUS DRIVER. TAKE A BREAK REFRESH YOURSELF AFTER EVERY TWO HOURS OF CONTINUOUS DRIVING.

  11. STOP ONLY AT DESIGNATED EMBARKATION AND DISEMBARKATION POINTS FOR PICKING UP & DROPPING PASSENGERS.

  12. FOR TWO WHEELERS NEVER RIDE WITHOUT A PROTECTIVE HEAD GEAR/HELMET. MANY TWO WHEELER ROAD ACCIDENTS RESULTS IN HEAD OR NECK INJURIES RESULTING IN DEATH.

  13. ALWAYS CARRY YOUR DRIVING LICENSE AND VEHICLE DOCUMENTS.


SAFETY RULES FOR PEDESTRIANS

  1. ALWAYS WALK ON THE EXTREME RIGHT SO YOU CAN SEE VEHICLES COMING OPPOSITE YOU.

  2. ALWAYS USE FOOTPATH WHEN AVAILABLE AND AVOID WALKING ON THE MAIN ROAD FOR YOUR SAFETY. THIS WILL ALSO HELP CURB THE TRAFFIC CONGESTION IN A BIG WAY AND REDUCE ROAD ACCIDENTS.

  3. CROSS ROADS ONLY AT ZEBRA CROSSING.

  4. WEAR BRIGHT CLOTHES AT NIGHT. SO DRIVERS COMING FROM BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN SEE YOU FROM A DISTANCE EVEN IN POOR LIGHT.

  5. AVOID MULTI-TASKING i.e. TEXTING, LOOKING FOR THINGS INSIDE YOUR BAG ETC WHILE WALKING ALONG THE ROAD.

  6. WHILE WALKING WITH YOUR CHILD MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD WALKS ON THE EXTREME RIGHT OF THE ROAD AND ALWAYS HOLD HANDS.

  7. AVOID WALKING IN GROUPS.

  8. DO NOT RUSH OR RUN ON THE ROAD.

  9. DO NOT WALK ON THE ROAD AFTER CONSUMING ALCOHOL.

  10. DO NOT TRY BOARDING THE BUS UNTIL IT HAS STOPPED COMPLETELY. SIMILARLY DO NOT TRY TO GET OFF THE BUS WHILE STILL RUNNING.

  11. BOARD AND GET DOWN ONLY AT DESIGNATED EMBARKATION AND DISEMBARKATION POINTS.
