A healthy Police-Public relation is vital to secure the desired measure of public involvement in the police operations to make it acceptable to society. The very basis of the law and order in the society is public support, without the support of the public no government can maintain law and order in the society. Community policing initiatives are being undertaken by West Jaintia Hills Police with a view to make the people believe and realize that the community can also play a vital role directly and indirectly in problem solving and crime fighting. It also aims to provide proactive policing to serve the people in more sensitive and friendlier manner.
